Oven BBQ Ribs

Oven BBQ Ribs.png

These ribs are super easy to make. Perfect for a backyard BBQ or if you don’t want to use the grill, a night in. For a quick BBQ rub you can use a store bought rub like this one, or you can make your own (recipe here). Our standard BBQ Sauce is this one, but you can use whatever you prefer. Serve with potato salad and grilled corn, or just serve alone - I’m not the boss of you.

Prep time:

Cook time:

Ingredients:
  • 2 racks baby back pork ribs
  • 4 Tbsp BBQ rub
  • BBQ Sauce (as little or as much as you like)

Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 250º. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil
  2. Lay out more foil and place one rack of ribs, rub both sides with BBQ rub approx. 1 Tbsp per side (or more if you want)
  3. Wrap rack tightly with foil, repeat with other rack
  4. Place on baking sheet bone side up, bake for 3 hours
  5. Let ribs rest for 15 minutes, unwrap and ‘paint’ with BBQ sauce. Put back in a 350º oven and bake for 10 min. Repeat until ribs are sticky (3-4 times). Cut between the bones and serve warm. Optional: We like to finish the ribs on the grill after they come out of the oven and do the sauce layering on the grill for the grilled flavor but it’s totally optional. No grill required!
  6. NOTES: For BBQ sauce we always use Sweet Baby Ray’s Original but you can use whatever brand you like. Also, the rub we use depends on if we make our own or if we have one in the spice cabinet
