Fluffy Southern Biscuits
You guys… I know I haven’t updated my site in awhile but I just had to come on and share my biscuit recipe. Obviously we are all spending more time at home so when my kids asked if I could make biscuits I tried a few recipes. I scoured the internet and tried 5 different recipes and this recipe is a mixture of techniques from those. I urge you to find a recipe you like and then memorize it. The freezing of the butter worked great for me, I also do that with pie crust. I hope you enjoy it! And I really hope my kids don’t ask me to make homemade blackberry jam.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter, frozen
- 1 ¼ cups cold buttermilk
- 2 tbsp butter, melted (separate from frozen)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450º. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl.
- Grate the frozen butter on a box grater, lightly mix it into the flour mixture with a fork.
- Add in the cold buttermilk and incorporate gently. Use your clean hands to bring the dough together.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface. Roll gently into a rectangle, about 1” thick. Use a biscuit cutter or a floured glass (about two inches wide) to cut out 6-8 biscuits without twisting to remove.
- Place biscuits on baking sheet an at least an inch apart. Brush the tops with melted butter. Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden around the edges. Remove and brush tops with more butter and serve NOW!
